I just read that you admire Aubrey Beardsley, and by the way you are a young old fart. I'm 60 and approaching Old Fart Status so I would know. Abubrey Beardsley and Oscar Wilde are my absolute favorites since discovering them in 1967 when I was a youth. I have been working on illustrations for Salome, by Oscar Wilde even though Beardsley did it so well. I have done some of it on the computer, in Adobe Illustrator, and I will put them up for you to see. This is what I love about Deviant Art. I have absolutely NO ONE who understands the illustrators I love, and here I found someone at Deviant who likes similar things. When I was designing these illustrations I was also doing Erotica, but I asked and from my description they say (the powers that be at Deviant Art)it's pornographic. Which is weird because I think it's just sexual in nature but with a sense of humor. Go figure. Salome is very graphic, but I will put up the ones with no private areas in a state of excitement. I'm informed that's porn!Glad you are out there!...Annie
You know, i was going to mention Beardsley in reply to one of your comments before, cause i thought i saw an influence of it in your work, but i got distracted and forgot to type it. Im not much of a reader these days, but i have wanted to read Salome because of the Beardsley illustrations ive seen from it. Cant wait to see the stuff you've done from it.

Thats too bad about your erotic graphic ones, theres a very thin line about what is and isnt pornographic under deviantarts opinion. and it dosent seem to be implimented very well. I guess thats what happens though when something gets so big. You get the good and the bad, and i know what you mean about finding people who share common artistic interests. Theres so many people on here now its hard, but at the same time, that is a bonus of sorts, since if you look long enough or hard enough, your bound to find people who do.

I have a number of books on Klimt, and I don't remember seeing this drawing. Dont you admire the economy of line and tone? It's a great drawing. I draw well, but I rarely achieve something that I believe is the calibre of anything I truely admire. I guess I'll just keep drawing, and keep working on improving. My motto: Never Surrender, Never Give up. Keep your sense of humor about yourself and your art, and keep trying to execute what you envision. Plus have fun while you're doing it. I'm glad you like my gallery, Thank you...Annie
It really is a great drawing. The line and tone is great, as is how he captured the expression with such efficiency. Good motto, i'll remember that.
